Fall is not my favourite season of the year, simply because it's a sign to tell me the cold Canadian winter is just around the corner. Although fall leaves triggers this kind of sadness that Summer is no longer here, I do always like seeing the colourful fall fruits and vegetables around this time of the year. I've heard so many good things about Jean Talon Market. I'm sure this market is lively in the other seasons, but the fact that we visited in October made it a much better experience. This market felt like the liveliest spot in the city, everybody was there buying fresh produce, having lunch or just taking a stroll like we were. I bought some pate and blue cheese to bring home. Quebec blue cheese is amazing.

La Bomboche

Hello!
Here I am, talking about food again :)

I shot a wedding last Saturday at Pangaea where the couple had a 10 course meal feast in celebration of their Marriage. We were treated the same as the guests, so to summarize the night, it was filled with delicious food and endless enjoyment. The wedding deserves it's own post, and i'll share it with you in full details once the photos are processed!

What I'm really trying to tell you is that they had a Macaron tree as their wedding cake! Mmmmm, they were delicious! Then yesterday I had discovered that the pastry shop that made the tree - La Bomboche -is just 5 mins walk from my work, so that's where I went during lunch hours yesterday. I had the lavender flavour, my favourite so far.

Many people have said they make the best Macarons in Toronto.
Do you know any better ones in Toronto? Or good Macaron bakers in your city?

oh brunch

condiments

What's better than waking up on a Sunday morning and fill your stomach with eggs and bacon?

Brunch is definitely one of our weekend must-dos!
I went to Mildred's Temple Kitchen on Sunday and had the best brunch. It wasn't your usual brunch, both food and price wise. Yes, you should expect to spend a little bit more in Mildred's than other brunch place, but it's totally worth it!

Make sure to go and try their yumminess if you're in Toronto.

weekend update

The weather is finally getting warm, so i've been all over the place this weekend: Luminato Festival, gaint yard sale and taking care of some dying pot plants. Oh! and home made brunch of course!

I realized that I've been only posting about weekends lately..but i promise to post up some film photos during the following week!

Rem would be very proud

I couldn't resist to post this! Someone in LA opened up an architecture inspired ice-cream shop and named it after Rem. Oh what??!! ..Yeah that was my question too.

Coolhaus is said to be some sort of new sandwich ice-cream: instead of using cookies, they use bread for the sandwiching part it looks like. I'm sure it taste good, cuz duh! all ice-cream related deserts taste good! But it's the fact that they have a architecture twist to their branding that has gained them popularity.

I love how they named the flavours. "Umm, I'd like to try the Frank Behry please!"

haha.

curling up at home

Saturday: cloudy, and extremely windy.

I didn't want to go out today at all, since the weather is so crappy..but i needed to get fabric for sewing class, so there I went, and was literally pushed to the fabric store by the wind. haha

Did I tell you I finally decided on the colours fro the granny square blanket? I got some inspirations from Madrepadre (via Make Something), and that's what I've been working on for the most part these days. I gotta make 16 of 26x26cm squares and patch them together, so I have a LONG way to go!

I've done a good job keeping myself busy this weekend! I made the wafers I said I was going to make last week. they taste really good with ice-cream!

I'm heading to the Oneofakind show tomorrow morning with Pui. I'm hoping to find some cute spring accessories.

Friday Out n' Abouts

I love Fridays! My weekend technically starts when Thursday ends :)

This Friday was my cubical buddy Kenneth's last day at work, and of course a farewell lunch as necessary in this occasion. But instead of dinning in a nice restaurant, we decided to sit by a plannted and have fish and chips wrapped in newspaper. It was quite nice with the sunshine warming our back, oh and the food was delicious indeed!

On most Fridays, I get to spend the nights with my lovely girl friends. This time we decided to have a food venture at the Lahore Tikka House. This restaurant is literally in a shack! I'm not kidding. All the furniture they have are plastic tables and chairs and all the food are served on disposable plates. But we loved the food. it's very flavuorful and spicy just how we liked it! Of course we had to stuff our stomachs completely full. hehe

When Saturday rolls around, I just want to stay home..but it's so nice out! I plan to bake some wafers today, I shall go out and pick up some ingridients.

Have a great weekend friends!
